Chianti

Chianti

The Chianti, one of the most well-known Italian words in the world, is the territory that most of all means history and food culture.

From an administrative point of view the Chianti is an area of countryside between Florence and Siena, and for this reason it is basically divided into three zones: Florentine, Siena’s and Arezzo’s.
Our farmhouse in Greve in Chianti is located in the Florentine border with the other two, so it is the ideal destination for those wishing to explore this idyllic Tuscan land.
The image that best represents all of the Chianti are its rolling hills with straight rows of vines, olive trees, solitary cypresses, the scattered stone cottages and the small villages each with a bell tower that soars high above the roofs of the houses.
One of the things to do to discover Chianti is to get lost in its country roads, traveling aimlessly to reach places that you thought could exist only in postcards and instead will be right in front of your eyes.

In addition to the vineyards and olive groves, the Chianti is also distinguished by the presence of interesting medieval villages and majestic castles that can be admired in all their grandeur along one of the 6 routes of the “Road of the Castles of Chianti“.
By admiring the towering walls of these castles, it is possible to understand the history and importance of this area of Tuscany that in the past was the stage of battles and clashes between Florence and Siena, between the Guelphs and Ghibellines.

But most of all, the chianti is a flavor, that of its Wine, so you should not miss the opportunity to enjoy at least a tasting in our farmhouse, where Anna will tell you the story of the Chianti Classico “La Camporena” which is also the story of these rolling hills and the hard work of man.
